La Casa dello Scirocco è infatti una incantevole Azienda
Agrituristica immersa letteralmente nel verde di un grande aranceto.
All'interno di grotte preistoriche sono stati ricavati dei monovani
arredati ed attrezzati con grande cura.
La
Casa dello Scirocco è una
costruzione di epoca romana realizzata dentro una vasta grotta
preistorica. Adibita nel '700 a garconiére dal Barone
Fuccio Corbino fu poi sepolta nei primi dell'800 dalla famiglia
perchè considerata "la casa del peccato".
Riportata alla luce nel 1987 e' stata sottoposta a vincolo della
Sovrintendenza ai Beni Culturali per il suo interesse storico e
architettonico. E' un esempio antesignano di casa biotermica, dotata
di terme e di un ingegnoso sistema di circolazione dell'acqua capace
di mantenere la costruzione fresca anche in estate.

DELLO SCIROCCO”
Spending your holidays or a week-end at the “Casa dello Scirocco” is
meant to live an unforgettable experience among history, myth and
nature.
“
Casa dello Scirocco” is in fact a wonderful farm holidays
dipped in the greenery of its orange-grove.
Carefully equipped and furnished rooms, have been obtained from
some prehistoric caves.
“
Casa dello Scirocco” belongs to the Roman Age and it has
been built into a vast prehistoric cave.
In 700’s Baron Fuccio Corbuno turned it into a garconière
and then, in 800’s it was buried by his family since it was
considered “The house of sin”.
In 1987 it was brought to light and was bound under the Sovritendenza
dei beni Culturali, because of its historical and architectonic
interest. It is a precursor example of biothermic house , provided
with thermal baths and with an ingenious water system, able to
make building cool even in summer.
